Questions teams ask

IDN data FAQs

What is an Integrated Delivery Network (IDN)?

An IDN is a group of connected healthcare organizations that work together to deliver care across settings. An IDN can include hospitals, medical practices, outpatient sites, nursing homes, home health, hospice and other care providers under shared ownership or coordination.

What is the difference between an IDN and a health system?

The terms often overlap. A health system usually describes an organization that owns or operates multiple facilities. IDN emphasizes that those facilities are integrated across the continuum of care, from physician practices to hospitals and post-acute services. Intent.Health lets you see the types of organizations connected to each IDN, so you can judge how integrated it is.

Why do sales teams target IDNs?

Many purchasing, technology and contracting decisions are made or influenced at the network level rather than by each facility. Researching the IDN helps you understand which organizations sit underneath it and where a decision may be coordinated. A connection alone does not establish where purchasing authority sits.

What do the Network Relationships filters show?

They let you find IDNs that have an affiliated hospital, health system, GPO, nursing home, home health organization, hospice, outpatient site or group practice. This helps you target IDNs whose mix of care settings fits your offering.

How does the Decision Network help with an IDN?

Decision Network shows the organizations connected to an IDN, grouped into categories such as hospitals, health systems and GPOs. Within each organization you can see associated executives and HCPs, which helps you map the people and facilities relevant to your outreach.

Can I find IDNs that use a specific EHR or technology?

Yes. The Technology Stack keyword filter lets you search for a specific technology or software, such as Epic or Cerner, and find IDNs where it has been detected. Technology data reflects what has been identified and may not be a complete inventory.

How can I find IDNs near a specific location?

Use the Organizational Profile filters to search by state, city, county or ZIP code, and add a radius of 25, 50, 100, 300 or 500 miles around a ZIP code. You can also narrow by number of employees and industry.

What financial information is available for IDNs?

You can filter by annual revenue, total funding received, latest funding type and latest funding amount. Each profile's Financial Overview shows group revenue, total funding, latest funding received, latest funding amount and when the organization last raised funding, where available.

Do intent keywords mean an IDN is planning to buy?

No. Intent keywords show topics an IDN has been researching, such as electronic health records or cybersecurity. They are a reason to investigate, not proof of an active purchase, approved budget or buying timeline.

What is the IH IDN ID?

It is Intent.Health's unique identifier for each IDN. You can use it in the Identifier section to find a specific IDN quickly and consistently, including when matching records with your CRM.
