An imaging center is a healthcare facility that uses medical imaging technologies to help diagnose, monitor and evaluate medical conditions. Services can include X-rays, MRI, CT scans, ultrasound, mammography and more. Many are outpatient or freestanding sites, while others are affiliated with hospitals, health systems or radiology groups.
A hospital radiology department serves inpatients, the emergency department and outpatients inside the hospital. A freestanding imaging center focuses on outpatient imaging, often in a more convenient location and frequently at a lower price, which is why some insurers steer patients toward them. Both can hold the same accreditations, so profile, ownership and modality data help you tell them apart.
Imaging centers invest in scanners, imaging IT such as PACS and RIS, EHR systems, staffing and services. Knowing which modalities a center runs, the technology it uses, its accreditation timelines and who leads each department helps you focus on centers that fit your offering and approach the right people. Many centers belong to larger groups or chains, so decisions may also involve a parent organization.
They are American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation programs for each imaging modality. For example, MRAP covers MRI, CTAP covers CT, MAP covers mammography, UAP covers ultrasound, BUAP covers breast ultrasound, BMRAP covers breast MRI, NMAP covers nuclear medicine, PETAP covers PET, SBBAP covers stereotactic breast biopsy and RO covers radiation oncology. You can filter by these codes and see the approved modules under each one in a center's profile.
They are ACR designations that go beyond standard accreditation. DICOE is the Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence, CBIC is the Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center, which requires accreditation in all breast imaging modalities, and LCSC is the Designated Lung Cancer Screening Center. You can also filter by the Prostate MRI designation, Image Gently and combinations of these seals.
Yes. The Modality & Accreditation filters let you select a status, such as Accredited or Under Review, set an expiration date range and find centers where provisional accreditation has been granted. Upcoming expirations can help you time outreach around renewals, equipment upgrades or quality programs.
Yes. Use the EHR Stack Vendor filter to find centers on a specific EHR, such as Epic, the Technology Stack filter to search for technologies such as Epic or Cerner, and the Org Intent Modules filter to search by the imaging or EHR software modules a center uses. Technology data reflects what has been detected and may not be a complete inventory.
No. Intent keywords, such as EHR migration, show topics a center has been researching or showing interest in. They are a reason to investigate, not proof of an active purchase, approved budget or buying timeline.
Use the Organization Profile filters to search by state, city or ZIP code, then add a radius of 25, 50, 100, 300 or 500 miles, or choose All. You can also search by a center's name or web address.
Each profile includes Executive Departments, such as Information Technology, Operations, Finance and Medical & Health, with the number of executives in each. HCP Intel groups the center's healthcare professionals into specialties such as Radiology & Imaging and Oncology. Click any department or specialty group to see its contacts and open their profiles.
You can filter by latest funding type, annual revenue, total funding and latest funding amount. Each profile's Financial Overview shows group revenue, total funding, latest funding received, latest funding amount and when the organization last raised funding, where available.
