Fire Safety Deficiencies come from fire safety surveys and cover areas such as construction, egress, electrical systems, emergency preparedness and smoke. Health Deficiencies come from health surveys and cover areas such as infection control, resident rights, pharmacy services and quality of care. Both can be filtered by survey date, scope severity code, correction status and more.
Each letter combines how serious a deficiency was with how many residents it affected or could affect. Later letters indicate more serious findings, up to immediate jeopardy (J, K and L). A code describes a survey finding at a point in time and should be read alongside the correction status and date.
You can use Medicare Claims Quality Measures, overall, health inspection, staffing and QM ratings in Provider Information, OAS CAHPS patient experience results, and the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Conditions, National Data and Provider Data datasets. Scores, footnotes and reporting periods are available as filters where applicable.
Yes. The Ownership section lets you filter by owner name, owner type (individual or organization), ownership percentage, association date and the role the owner or manager plays, such as 5% or greater direct ownership interest or operational/managerial control. Provider Information also flags facilities that changed ownership in the last 12 months.
The Penalties section covers penalty date, penalty type (fine or payment denial), fine amount, payment denial start date and length in days. Provider Information adds summary counts such as number of fines, total amount of fines, number of payment denials and total number of penalties.
